A western story you can run your hands across.
Some landscapes stay with us. Not because of what happened there, but because of how they made us feel. The warmth of sun-worn stone. The texture of weathered wood. The quiet rhythm of grasses moving across an open field. These places leave an imprint, shaping the way we think about comfort, beauty, and home. Badlands began with that feeling.
That desire for connection—to places, stories, and materials that feel genuine—seems to be resonating far beyond the landscape itself.
The renewed interest in Western-inspired design is one expression of that longing. Across fashion, music, and design, we're seeing a renewed appreciation for materials and stories that feel rooted in place.

From handcrafted details to lived-in textures, people are gravitating toward spaces and objects that feel authentic, collected, and connected to the landscape—like a return to a simpler way of living. Badlands explores that feeling through fabric.
Inspired by the character of the American landscape, from rugged desert terrain to the rolling contours of Appalachia, Badlands explores the textures, patterns, and contrasts found in the natural world.
It is a study in places shaped by time: landscapes softened by seasons, marked by movement, and rich with stories waiting to be told. It is a tribute to the stories, traditions, and people shaped by this land.
Badlands is now available to shop on our site, and ready to become part of your memo library.

Twenty-one Fabrics. One Shared Land.
This themed collection brings together twenty-one fabrics that balance familiarity with discovery. Animal-inspired patterns sit alongside portraits of adventure and distinct textures. Wovens, vinyls, furs, and prints create opportunities for contrast while maintaining a sense of cohesion. Each fabric offers its own perspective, but together they tell a larger story about the beauty found in natural variation.
As we built the collection, we found ourselves returning to a simple question: What is it about a landscape that makes us want to reach out and touch it?
Is it the excitement of wide open spaces? The softness of weathered wood shaped by years of use? The distinctive markings found in nature that feel both unexpected and perfectly placed? Those questions guided every selection.
A fabric like S8022 Sunset captures a sense of warmth and depth that feels rooted in the landscape itself. S7421 Putty recalls the character of aged wood and naturally worn surfaces. S8033 Barn offers a nod to the enduring imagery of the American frontier, interpreted through a fresh and approachable lens.

The story itself began with a single plaid.
Instinct led the way when the plaid with fur was found. After months, a collection was finally underway when the cowboy scenic print and long-haired ivory faux fur were discovered. What started as a single idea gradually expanded into a collection united by a similar language of tactile richness, warm earth tones, and layered with character.
Much like the landscapes that inspired it, Badlands is a collection built on contrast. Softness meets structure. Refined patterns meet rugged textures. Light and dark, smooth and tactile, familiar and unexpected all work together to create depth.
For projects seeking bold contrast, pairings like F6221 Domino and S8031 Aspenbark highlight the beauty found in nature's varied patterns. For a quieter, more tonal approach, combinations such as S8030 Deerskin and S8025 Latte create a sense of effortless continuity.

For the room you come home to after the work is done.
That longing for the American West—for open horizons, untamed beauty, and a life lived a little closer to the land—is exactly what we hope you'll find in this collection.
Badlands captures what it means to bring a landscape into fabric. Each pattern and texture is a reflection of the places that stay with us: windswept grasslands, weathered barns, winding trails, and the quiet moments found beneath an endless sky.
Together, they tell a story of contrast and comfort, adventure and home, reminding us that the spaces we love most often reflect the landscapes that first inspired us.
Badlands is a place to hang your hat, tie up your horse, and rest in a room that holds you.
As always, free memos are available to order.
